About Us

Ashbrook House – a wonderful Northern Ireland B&B

Your hosts, Crofton and Hazel Mc Dermott, have been in the manufacturing/catering industry for the last 30 years running and expanding their own business.

In search for a new venture, they put their catering experience to good use and decided to open their home for a top quality Bed and Breakfast.

Hazel has always been interested in catering and hospitality, having completed a degree in Hotel Management, Tourism and Hospitality at the University of Ulster some 30 years ago.

Her top priority is to please the customer in a warm and welcoming environment, offering the best possible service with fine attention to detail.


The house itself is modern with each bedroom having its very own private en-suite for practicality. The house is finished to the highest possible level of specification with all bedrooms featuring a 40-inch smart led TV. A fast wired and Wi-Fi internet connection and DVD access to keep you thoroughly entertained throughout your time spent with us. We also have a cinema room which features a huge screen for optimal viewing pleasures and comfortable luxurious sofa chairs so that you can sit back, relax and enjoy your favourite movies. You must order this upon entrance or book it on demand.

If you have a craving for a cup of tea or coffee brewing in your stomach. You can use the tea/coffee making facilities included in each room and you can also feel free to use our kitchen if necessary. The house is ventilated using heat recovery so that all areas are serviced with fresh filtered air. This is an additional health benefit for people who suffer from hay fever and asthma etc.


Overall the rooms are tastefully and individually decorated. Experience a deep and smoothing night’s sleep in comfort as each bed is fitted with Egyptian cotton sheets. Step out of the shower and wrap yourself in one of the soft and fluffy towels provided. Each room is supplied with a hairdryer, toiletries, magnifying mirror, shaver socket, luggage holder, heated towel rail, alarm clock and an iPod dock. An iron and ironing board are also available on request.


In contrast with the B&B we also have two individual apartments available to our guests. This can accommodate up to 6 guests in our two bedroom apartment. Also available is our newly refurnished one bedroom apartment holding up to 4 guests. This safe haven is ideal for families or for those who desire more independence during their time with us. Our apartment features all of the great benefits of any of our rooms as well as a dish washer, washing machine and tumble drier – ideal for those who wish to be more self-sufficient.



Breakfast can be generally served in the dining room at individual tables for each room or in the conservatory as well as on the patio area on fine days if requested. We strive to make you feel at home here, therefore all of our food is home-made and exquisite. We have a superb breakfast menu to suit all tastes and preferences. Our full Irish breakfast uses locally scoured ingredients where possible. This will ensure you enjoy excellent food in a relaxed and luxurious environment.



Snuggled comfortably in the rural surroundings significantly close to the quaint cross border village of Aughnacloy rests the magnificent Ashbrook House. Guests can enjoy our wonderfully mature gardens together with the wonderful rolling countryside that surrounds the B&B.

Ashbrook House is located just 10 short minutes from the M1 motorway and in particular 15 minutes from the historical town of Dungannon. Please see below for directions:

From Belfast: Take the M1 westbound for approx. 40 miles. Then take A45 exit towards B35 Aughnacloy. Continue for 5.5 miles then you will find our B&B on the right.

From Aughnacloy: Take the B35 to Dungannon, continue 3.3 miles, B&B is on the left.

From Dublin: Head north through Monaghan to Aughnacloy.
